If you have noticed that your kitchen is being taken over by equipment you seldom use, it may be time to recover some of that valuable kitchen space. Self-storage units are perfect for the temporary or permanent storing of one's large kitchen appliances.
Refrigerators, freezers, stoves, dishwashers, and microwaves are all examples of large appliances found in kitchens. It is recommended that you disassemble them as much as possible before putting them in storage.
STORING A REFRIDGERATOR
Defrost the fridge a few days before storing it away.
To prevent mildew, you should drain all liquid from the fridge. Make sure to give your refrigerator plenty of time to dry out after cleaning.
Put half a cup of baking soda into the sink and fill it with warm water. Make sure you give your refrigerator's inside and exterior a good scrub, rinse, and dry.
Clean the inside of the refrigerator, including the shelves and the space beneath the crisper drawers.
Empty your fridge and freezer of any trays, glass shelves, or drawers.
Use a gentle soap to clean these delicate pieces. Mark them as "fragile" on the box and avoid placing anything heavy on top of them.
To avoid mildew development, wipe off the rubber seal around the door's frame.
Clean the coils in the refrigerator by vacuuming or dusting them.
Put a tarp over the fridge to keep out the dirt and scratches and tie it down with a rope after closing the doors.
Make sure your refrigerator arrives at its destination upright.
Keep the refrigerator door open after everything is safely stored.
STORING A STOVE
Remove any food particles and grease from the inside and outside of your stove, as well as the range hood, using a light detergent.
Get the stove unplugged. This is something you can accomplish on your own if you have access to an electric stove. Having a professional switch off the gas and disconnect the pipes is a must if you possess a gas stove. The stove may be transported with the pipes still inside.
Wrap the knobs of the stove with tape so they don't come off during transport.
Warp your stove in a tarp.
